He graduated with honors in political science at the University of Amsterdam, and took the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA). He chaired the local Dutch Labor Party, PvdA in Amsterdam and has a broad experience as a non-executive president of several organizations, like the University of Amsterdam's Academic Mental Health Clinic and the forerunner of ProDemos, the Dutch national institute for democracy and the rule of law. He has inside knowledge of many economic sectors: telecommunications and internet technology, agro-production, health care, and banking and insurance he has also worked with the government. His work builds on his considerable experience in management himself, as campaign and strategy manager with the Dutch Consumer Association, as head of communications for Oxfam Novib and the mental health organization Emergis, and as general director of the Dutch Nature and Environment Foundation. His clients range from KLM to local governments like the City of Amsterdam, from the Ministry of Agriculture in Ethiopia to international ngo's like Oxfam and Synergos. His work focuses on strategy and innovation, change management and leadership development in a wide range of organizations, both corporate and social. Besides teaching mindfulness based leadership programs Wibo works as a management consultant and leadership expert for innovation in complex systems. Its mission is contribute to the enhancement of the quality of life and work, education and health by integrating mindfulness in all parts of society. Wibo Koole is director of the Centre for Mindfulness in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and founder of its widely acknowledged leadership program Resilience in management, mindfulness-based leadership in 10 weeks. He is a trained pedagogue and a registered (but not-practicing) healthcare psychologist. Rob used to work as a prevention officer in addiction treatment, as director of an organization in the health prevention sector, and in his own practice for psychology. He is the author of several popular books on mindfulness in Dutch. Rob is Head of the Mindfulness Teacher Training programs of the Centrum voor Mindfulness. He has been involved in developing a number of mindfulness-based interventions. His main interest lies in applying mindfulness and compassion to the many domains of daily life and specifically to health care.
